2006 Pontiac Torrent - August 30, 2005

The new 2006 Pontiac Torrent (pictured below) has received a five-star crash rating - the U.S. governments highest star rating - in both frontal and side impact crash tests.

Torrent, a vehicle that combines car-like agility and SUV capability and versatility, features an integral body structure with full-length underbody rails that provides exceptional strength. Torrent offers numerous standard safety features, including dual-stage frontal air bags, three-point safety belts for all seating positions and the LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) child safety seat retention system, which can accommodate up to three child seats. Roof-rail head curtain side air bags are available and four-channel ABS brakes are standard on all models.
